A top dermatologist has revealed three simple methods aimed at making scars "fade faster".
Everyone is bound to have a scar or two - they're part and parcel of being human - and they come from a variety of sources like injuries, sickness, or as consequences of conditions such as acne or psoriasis.
While having scars is completely natural and not something to hide, there's no denying that plenty of individuals are keen to diminish their appearance, with some even seeking expert advice in a bid to better the look and texture of them.
Dermatologists are often the first port of call for anyone worried over their skin health. These specialists have the medical know-how to diagnose and tackle a multitude of skin troubles, alongside beauty and other issues relating to the hair and nails.
It's not unusual to see these skin doctors sharing nuggets of wisdom on social media, regularly touching on a multitude of common ailments that affect many across the globe.

One such professional proving popular in online spaces is Dr Aamna Adel. The London-based dermatologist registrar has amassed an immense online following, with over 1.7 million TikTok aficionados tuned in to her content.
Her straightforward advice and self-care tips, which cover everything from the top of your head down to your toes, has solidified her trusted reputation. Dr Adel's videos have racked up over five million on the hit social media platform.
Recently, Dr Adel posted a new video in which she shared a trio of tips for people wishing to make their scars less conspicuous.
In the video, she can be seen browsing a Boots outlet for products. In a voiceover, the dermatologist began: "I create and treat scars for a living as a dermatologist who cuts out skin cancers every day so get out your notebook because this is everything I tell my patients to do to make their scars less obvious."
Scar massage
She highlighted the benefits of scar massage. She said: "Scar massage is so underrated. Grab yourself some Vaseline or Aquaphor for some slip then massage for five minutes every single day."
She then said: "It might feel like it's not doing anything but it's actually going to help to soften your scar, remodel collagen and reduce pain."
When a follower asked about this technique's effectiveness on acne scars, Dr Adel responded: "Tretinoin, microneedling, resurfacing lasers for acne scarring, silicone can help with raised acne scars (keloids)".
Silicone gels and sheets
Dr Adel was also seen looking at silicone gels and sheets. The dermatologist explained: "These silicone gels and sheets might look like they're too good to be true but studies show that they're actually legit."
She advised: "Apply the gel in the morning and use the sheets at night - if you use them consistently, it will help to lighten and flatten your scars, making them less obvious."
Sunscreen
The importance of sunscreen was also reiterated, especially given its well-known protective qualities against the effects of UVA and UVB rays. The product is hailed by skincare professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Dr Adel added: "Lastly, sunscreen because, of course, you need to protect your scar from UV and prevent it from getting darker.

"Remember, time is everything when it comes to scars so start treating them early and be patient because they're not going to disappear overnight."
