Keep Momentum Going for High Speed Rail
The state Legislative Analyst’s Office recently released a report on California’s High Speed Rail project. Here is a statement from Angelenos Against Gridlock:
Whatever the hurdles, we do need to make sure that this project gets built, connecting San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Francisco.
The voters approved the project, and the citizens of California deserve to see this built. We can’t let temporary budget constraints or potential management concerns prevent a project from being built that will serve residents for decades if not centuries.
We applaud the efforts of the Legislative Analyst’s Office to analyze the hurdles the project is facing. These concerns need to be examined and dealt with as needed. This is very important. But since there are others in the public debate that continue to be critical of high speed rail, we just need to keep our eye on the prize and make sure it IS built (and built properly).
