Just heard from someone who’d been waiting “a half hour” during the late afternoon/early evening at a major intersection, Wilshire & Westwood, for any bus — either the 720 (Rapid) or the 20 (local line). One 720 did pass, but didn’t stop, as it was already full.
Now, suddenly, a 20, and two 720s arrived, with two more 720s 4-5 minutes behind (according to nextbus.com).
With a subway (or light rail) line, transit is predictable and timely. With buses, they clump together producing extreme rider frustration at times.
LA deserves a fully built out rail system! Good thing the Westside Subway extension is coming — but there are so many other deserving routes with no plans in sight.
