Tonight’s Metro Community Meeting on the 405 Project offered a chance for Angelenos to hear the latest from Metro’s community relations staff.

Some other observations from the meeting:
- It’s nothing new, but worth repeating: under the project contract, the construction’s Substantial Completion is supposed to occur in May 2013. But we’re currently looking at months of delays — perhaps December 2013. But that’s not the end; everything won’t be done until Final Completion, perhaps six more months until final completion.
- Beyond the 405 project, many residents expressed frustration with the incredible gridlock on Sunset, particularly near Barrington and approaching the 405. This area of course, has been staggeringly gridlocked for years, before the 405 Project. It’s interesting to note that LADOT kept statistics on how much it helped to have traffic officers on-site directing traffic, and the impact on reducing gridlock was minimal.
